Position:

Genesys Works is seeking a seasoned, dynamic and energetic Director of Finance and Administration to provide leadership over strategic long-term budgeting and organizational planning, while managing the day-to-day financial and operational systems necessary to support high levels of national growth for this entrepreneurial organization.  Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Executive Directors at each of the national Genesys Works sites, the Director of Finance and Administration will be responsible for all financial aspects of the organization, including managing the coordination and oversight of organizational audits, the preparation of federal and state tax filings, annual budgeting and planning processes, and cash flow management and reporting.  The Director of Finance and Administration will also oversee the Human Resources function, ensuring effective hiring.  This position is an exciting opportunity to build and lead the financial and operational systems for a growing national organization with a proven-track record of success.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the CEO and Executive Directors of each subsidiary, provide overall leadership for all aspects of the organization’s financial management, planning, reporting and analysis, and setting annual budgets that guide organizational priorities and decision- making
  • Manage at least two full-time professionals
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of accounting, financial reporting, cash-flow analysis and the yearly budgeting process.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and reporting requirements of external stakeholders, including auditors, donors, foundations and other relevant entities
  • Oversee the human resources function, including the development and implementation of effective hiring, compensation, benefits, training and professional development systems and policies
  • Negotiate and manage a variety of external vendor relationships for banking, accounting, legal, benefits, Information Technology, insurance and facilities; coordinate contract negotiation and renewals

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of senior level management experience in finance and administration, preferably within a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience designing and implementing financial and operational systems and processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of a growing organization
  • Track record of success managing and delivering results for multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment that is national in scope
  • Superior analytical skills and a comfort level with strategic planning
  • Flexibility combined with the ability to multi-task; comfort working in a fast-paced and growing organization, while also driving toward clarity and solutions
  •  
  • Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to listen and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents
  • Deep belief in the Genesys Works mission and determination to grow the organization to be best in class
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; CPA and Master’s degree in business, non-profit management or related field highly preferred
  • Extensive working knowledge of business accounting software highly preferred
