We are an experienced team of professionals dedicated to delivering inspirational educational facilities at affordable rates. Civic Builders seeks an entrepreneurial-minded, mission-driven teammate to join Civic’s Business Development team. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Responsibilities:
SITE SEARCH & EVALUATION
- Lead real estate site search activities to identify site opportunities: canvass geographic catchment area, conduct outreach, liaise with brokerage community, research and vet site opportunities, contact site owners
- Conduct preliminary site due diligence including architectural, environmental, and economic feasibility
- Maintain database of site opportunities
PROJECT PIPELINE
- Market Civic’s mission and services to prospective charter school partners
- Lead due diligence efforts to evaluate potential partner charter schools
- Maintain database to track all charter schools (applicants/charters/operators/renewals) in Civic’s geographic markets and identify prospective projects
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT & CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Manage and evaluate information from schools (academics, financials, organizational data) and monitor school performance
- Collaborate with Business Development Directors and Real Estate Project Managers to:
- Secure site control: prepare and make offers, draft and negotiate sale or lease agreements with property owners
- Structure and manage business relationship with charter partners; negotiate and execute contracts including development and lease agreements
- Assess project feasibility and conduct project underwriting
- Secure and close project-level financing
- Prepare internal and external presentations
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
- Additional special projects or tasks as necessary
MISCELLANEOUS
Qualifications:
A successful candidate for this position will have a proven ability to multi-task, take initiative, and work collaboratively with a team. College degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills, 3-5 years of relevant experience and a demonstrated interest in Civic Builders’ mission a must.
