Position:

Ashoka is currently seeking a highly qualified Application/Platform Manager to help move forward an exciting new Integrated Technology Initiative throughout the organization.  This position will have primary responsibility for the production environment internally and for owning new applications adopted by Ashoka.  The Application/Platform Manager will coordinate the work of outside vendors to ensure that applications are successfully serving the needs of the global organization and will be an internal resource to users across the globe.  This position is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, creative and tech-savvy individual to help integrate technology solutions at Ashoka, thereby increasing its impact on social entrepreneurship throughout the world. 

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with senior Ashoka staff to support vision for new applications, including Salesforce.com and others
• Working with the internal Ashoka team, conduct research on potential new applications and their ability to positively impact the organization’s work
• Oversee production staff, including both employees and contractors, responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all applications
• Serve as an internal troubleshooting resource for Ashoka users across the globe
• Gather information about the efficacy of specific applications and the needs in the field and communicate that to senior managers in order to affect future strategy of the department

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project or product management, consulting or program implementation, preferably in the technology sector
• Demonstrated success managing programs and projects to completion
• Interest in trends and developments within the technology industry and a passion for the potential of technology tools to transform the work of the nonprofit sector
• Ability to effectively communicate and translate the business needs of the organization to external stakeholders and the value of new applications to a variety of internal stakeholders
• Ability to learn quickly through accessing a variety of resources, such as existing documentation and on-line resources
• Evidence of entrepreneurial initiative and commitment to innovation for the public good.
• Demonstrated creativity in vision and problem solving with a strong ethical fiber.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills combined with excellent attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
