Position:

Ashoka is currently seeking a highly qualified Training and Documentation Manager to help move forward an exciting new Integrated Technology Initiative throughout the organization.  A new position created to support significant organizational growth, the Training and Documentation Manager will plan, manage, and conduct training and technical assistance for Ashoka staff and partners throughout the world.  Documenting the training and managing outside vendors are also major responsibilities of this position.  This position is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional trainer and communicator to help integrate technology solutions at Ashoka, thereby increasing its impact on social entrepreneurship throughout the world. 

Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and manage training and technical assistance programs for Ashoka staff and partners through the world
• Continually review Ashoka’s overall technology training needs, determine and facilitate the most effective and cost-efficient ways of delivering relevant training to staff on an individual, team-based and/or organization-wide basis
• Oversee training staff, including both employees and contractors, responsible for the development, implementation and presentation of all training on all new applications
• Document training curricula, participant attendance, participant evaluations and other pertinent data and prepare reports to inform future training strategy
• Help evaluate the adoption of new applications over time by Ashoka staff and partners, including developing metrics and measures and carrying out periodic evaluations
• Gather information about the efficacy of specific applications and the needs in the field and communicate that to senior managers in order to affect future strategy of the department

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in training or professional development
• Interest in trends and developments within the technology industry and a passion for the potential of technology tools to transform the work of the nonprofit sector
• Ability to learn quickly through accessing a variety of resources, such as existing documentation and on-line resources
• Intercultural/multicultural experience and cross-cultural competency required
• Evidence of entrepreneurial initiative and commitment to innovation for the public good.
• Demonstrated creativity in vision and problem solving with a strong ethical fiber.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills combined with excellent attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
• Ability to meet demands of significant international travel
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
